When did you join Dreamwidth? January 2016. Whoa, my ten year DW anniversary passed!
Why did you join Dreamwidth? Because of Supernatural fandom. I think one of the authors I followed must have posted about Dreamwidth and then I started participating in fic exchanges on DW. I originally made an account just to post fic exchange letters.
What's the meaning behind your Dreamwidth username? I made an account on LJ because of Supernatural and I was obsessed with the Impala so I put it in my name. I added "chick" because I thought it sounded cool but was not a cuss word (I considered using 'bitch' I'm sure). Now I feel like I've totally outgrown it and I've wanted to get rid of the 'chick' part for a while. I just don't like having a gender marker that I don't even really like or identify with.
What's your favorite thing about Dreamwidth? All of the events! It seems like there is still plenty of interest for fic exchanges and icon communities & I have fun with both of those.
What's your least favorite thing about Dreamwidth? Not a lot of live-blogging or meta about shows anymore - this is probably more a symptom of shows airing all at once instead of week-to-week though. I wish there was still a space for each of my fandoms to leave little comment fic or snips of headcanons.
Dreamwidth free, paid or premium? Paid so that I can have 150 icon slots!
What do you get out of Dreamwidth that you don't get from anywhere else? DW still moves slow enough for me to post comments a day (or more) later, and I can catch up on my reading page, and it's still searchable. And I can customize my own blog!!
Dreamwidth tip for beginners? Participate in fic events that are manageable to you - and then you can read all of the request letters posted for that event and find the authors on DW and/or Tumblr. This has been one of the best ways for me to find authors currently writing in my fandoms.
