First off, the top ten Jonas Brothers collaborations from 2025! During the Greetings from Your Hometown Tour, the Jonas Brothers invited different artists/bands to every show. Each time it was a total surprise. The collaborations were a part of the larger theme of coming together as family and enjoying americana and also reminiscing about the 2000s. In some instances, the bands that played together hadn't even played live in years! I really loved seeing the Jonas Brothers pay homage to all these bands that came before them, and I also loved seeing them share the stage so humbly. Nearly all of my favorite bands were invited onto the tour!

10 vids under the cut )

I've also put together my top ten 5 Seconds of Summer songs of all time! They just dropped their new album (my top two songs are off that album) and they're going on tour this summer and I'm STOKED.

01. Evolve
Out for a week
Freak energy
You know what I mean

^This song is saying something about gender and bisexuality (and/or pegging??) and partying culture and simple desires and I could go on - but it's also a BOP.

02. Telephone Busy
World is spinning, I'm not dizzy
Call you, but your telephone busy
I been thinking, do you miss me?

^This song is probably going to inspire my new username!

03. Easier (featuring Luke tied up and still singing without any explanation. And his makeup is SO hot)
04. Jet Black Heart (off of their second studio album back in 2015 but it still SENDS me)
05. More
06. Lover of Mine (The most romantic song they've written!)
07. Ghost of You
08. Moving Along (live version because of Calum's curls and Luke's nail polish)
09. Old Me
10. Ghost (the song they wrote after Liam Payne passed away)

[personal profile] nyctanthes posted this article called: Why on Earth Have I Seen the Same Broadway Show 13 Times? An Investigation. I love the sincere way the writer explores their own self-proclaimed insane behavior about the play. It was also fun how they discuss being in the theater with so many other mega-fans, and feeling a part of something.

That's the most important part! For me, fandom isn't just about falling in love with media. It's also being able to share that love in a sincere way and a safe way with other people. I think [personal profile] muccamukk mentioned the philosophy of it in their post - when someone else says they see this particular aspect of the show/song/book the same way I do, HUZZAH! My perception of reality isn't totally fucked up! Or if it is, at least we can play pretend together :)

To that end, I'd like to say thank you to Supernatural fandom. For those peak years from 2005 to about 2010 or so, Supernatural fandom led me to all kinds of wonderful internet spaces. I used to tape episodes on VHS as they aired live, and then I rewatched them countless times. Probably more than 13 if I liked a particular episode :P My family definitely categorized that behavior as insane. There was definitely nobody I could talk about wincest with IRL, but the signs where there in the canon imo!! Posting recaps and dissecting tiny little details in canon became a jumping-off point for genuine conversations that were fun to be a part of. I started being much more creative while reading so much fic - and learning a lot about sexuality/gender in the process. Supernatural fandom also taught me a lot about internet etiquette - like how you don't have to get involved in discourse you don't agree with, you don't have to attack people who ship something different or write a kink you don't like. Because lucky for us, fandom spaces on the internet are a huge gathering place! I've always been able to find someone else who views my ship or my show the way I do (on Livejournal, but now on AO3 and DW and Tumblr), and I can just filter out all the rest. That's probably the number one reason fandom space feels so safe - I can curate my own experience and share my love with a particular piece of media with other people while being creative. And being creative makes my brain feel really great. So THANK YOU for being a part of that.

Of course there have been some people who have acted in bad faith throughout the years, so I also want to use this post to say I'm so grateful to everyone who moderates comms and exchanges! By enforcing fair rules, you make our community what it is. Thank you for giving me this space to just vibe and have a nice time with other fans ♥

I am getting ready to delete my Livejournal. I haven't posted anything there since 2022, and all of the news about the data being sold off is making me super uncomfortable. I loved that website for such a long time, but maybe it's really time to say goodbye.

This Snowflake Challenge inspired me to go back through my memories/saved entries on LJ and pull out some notable ones.

This is a list of all of the originals songs used in Roswell put together by Sweet_honeygirl. I think songs were changed/swapped when Roswell was put on Netflix. Originally posted 11-03-2007.

Fic: A Love Like the Sea by andrealyn in four parts. Originally posted at camp_toccoa on 5-21-2009. WARNING for attempted suicide & suicidal ideation. I recced this fic and bookmarked it. I'm rereading it and I don't have the same love for it as I once did, but It's still worth noting how much the characterization of this fic likely influenced my future webgott fics.

Pairing: Liebgott/Webster
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 6,015
ETA This fic was posted on AO3.

•And then this is an html guide by inkvoices that is still usable if you use HTML on DW. I remember learning a lot from this post! I decided to copy/paste it under this cut so that I'd have it if the site went down. Originally posted 10-08-2012.

This theme is the perfect opportunity to talk about my three favorite animated horses! I love these three films, and I think the horse companions add a lot - we get to know the characters through their relationship with their horse, the horse advances the plot, and even provides comic relief. Plus the animation itself is gorgeous for all three of these.

03. Altivo from The Road to El Dorado

gif source

He falls into a life of adventure (literally)! His mane falls loose from its tight bindings once he escapes his Spanish master and it's such a lovely metaphor. Just like Miguel and Tulio, he is set free and chooses a life that he actually wants!

02. Khan from Mulan

He follows Mulan into war and stays loyal to her no matter what - he seems to represent Mulan's immediate family in a way that Mushu does not. He's probably the most regal horse on this list.

01. Angus from Brave

Merida is the ultimate horse girl, and Angus is so beautiful and just as adventurous as she is. I'm in awe of the animation.

Honorable mention to Spirit in Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron but I wouldn't count him as a pet. He's the main character!

#10: Fandom Firsts

•My first fic bookmark on AO3 was the Kris Allen/Adam Lambert RPF Fic They Come in Threes from Yuletide 2009. I have no recollection of this fic, but I vaguely remember being into Adam Lambert RPF. It's got plenty of crack/humor, which was definitely one of my favorite tropes back in the day.
•My first post on Livejournal was made on 04 December 2006! I wrote how I was excited to join LJ and I used a ton of exclamation points and smiley faces, so I guess some things never change.
•My first fanvid bookmark on AO3 was the Scott&Stiles vid From Here On Out by mithborien from 2014. It's still so good! ♥

#11: Share your love for a trope, cliche, kink, motif, or theme.

Outsider POV! I love how this trope (also called Bystander fic?) makes use of actually having a narrator - either another character or an OC - showcase how in love and/or unhinged a ship is.
From fanlore: The removed point of view often serves to highlight how unusual the characters' lives are when compared to the life of an average bystander, or to otherwise explore how someone who doesn't know all the details would parse the information they have access to.

The format of outsider POV fic can vary from non-traditional fic, to overhearing canon quotes from characters, to kink fic that might lead to voyuerism or a threesome. I love them all. But my favorite is when there is a somewhat oblivious narrator who eventually realizes what they're seeing, and this leads to some great insight on all three (or more) characters involved. There is a tiny bit of controversy with this trope because the narrator may be viewed as a character getting shoved aside for the sake of the ship, but I don't think this happens nearly as much as people think. The narrator is arguably the most important character in the fic because it's the narrator's thought process that I'm interested in.

Some of my favorite outsider POV fic:
Daniel LaRusso, karate, and the soul of the San Fernando Valley, Cobra Kai, LaRusso/Lawrence, Rated Mature
This fic practically defines the genre for me!! A man's man of a reporter comes out to interview Daniel the karate legend, and Johnny's there too, and the writer goes on this journey with his subjects and it's absolutely a fantastic read.

The Death-Defying Mystery of the Brothers Winchester, Supernatural & Buzzfeed Unsolved, Rated Gen
The crossover of my dreams! What if Shane and Ryan dissected Dean and Sam on Buzzfeed? This is witty and funny and I definitely laughed out loud.

It's All in Print, Band of Brothers, Winters/Nixon, Rated G
A collection of "primary sources" like news articles that showcase Nix and Dick's lives after the war! So creative and interesting.

Artificial Intelligence, MCU, Steve/Tony, Rated Gen
A little crack treated seriously where Tony's smart appliances play matchmaker!

Some Outsider POV fic that I've written:
Are They Serious?, Supernatural, Sam/Rowena
Crowley realizes that his mother and Sam are dating. This one is mostly crack but I still think it's funny :P

The New York Institute’s Shadowhunter-in-Training, Shadowhunters, Simon/Jace
Where I shamelessly borrow the idea from the above LawRusso fic, and have a reporter go interview Jace and Simon about becoming a Shadowhunter.

The Fate of the Underworld's New Hellhound, Crossover with Teen Wolf and Ancient Greek religion and lore, Lydia Martin/Jordan Parrish
Persephone goes to find the Hellhound Parrish, and observes Lydia and Parrish's relationship.

It turns out I've also written three different fics where an OC demon character is observing Shane and Ryan!

#3: In your own space, talk about a fannish opinion you hold that has changed over time.

I've been in fandom 20 years now (WHOA!) and fandom has opened my mind and my heart to so many things. But the biggest one is probably about shipping. When I first joined online fandom, I thought you HAD to pick your ship and stay with your ship. It was like your ship dictated your team loyalty, and you should always defend your ship no matter what. For me, it was Clark and Lana from Smallville. I looked down on so called 'multi shippers' and figured they couldn't really care about a couple if they didn't want them to be canon (and I said some mean shit online). Now of course I think that's all stupid bullshit and I'm a proud multi-shipper myself. Also, I do not really care if my ships become canon. BUT I can see why there are antis out there who have staked their whole fandom personality on a ship and feel like they must defend it like they'd defend a child. I was that way for a couple years. I can't remember exactly why I changed my mind but I did start reading other ship fic that my friends were writing. And it was fun to read other fic! It was fun to imagine how other character dynamics would work! And it was fun to get into poly ships (and learn more about being poly in general)! So I guess just being around and meeting other fandom friends who were multi-shippers helped me understand that we're all here to have fun and it's fine to like what you like :)

#4: Goals
I always like this one because then I get to look back on
last year's goals:
-Keep up with posting my icons to my own journal and have an icons: 2024 tag. It got way too complicated to keep up with the icons I was posting for various challenges. Also, remember to post icons to other icon comms!
-Write 5+ longfic, which I'm defining as over 5k. Last year, I only wrote 4 fics over 5k.
I only wrote 3 fics over 5k! 2 of them were for RNM and 1 was for MotA.
-Finish up the WIPs I am bringing with me from 2023. ???? I did finish some, but not all.
-Consider doing fffx if noms go well! Still too intimidated :/
-Do ficinabox again, because that's always a blast (and do more not-fic this year).
-Make time for battleshipex even though it comes at a challenging time of year.
-Maybe take a break from other exchanges during the year so I have time for my WIPs.
Oopsie, I mostly wrote for exchanges this year.

Personal Goals:
-Read 20+ books (more than the 16 I read in 2023)
-Donate clothes I don't wear anymore to get ready for the move
-Go to at least three concerts this year
-Pack my lunch more (so that I only eat out for lunch once a week)
-Find new workout classes once we move

-Read to my baby in Japanese more (and practice Japanese more) Need to work on this!
-Come up with a great thesis topic in the fall
-Make lasting friend(s) when we move! AKA Be as social as I can be in the fall

-Plan and make baby's Halloween costume early this year
-Start that t-shirt quilt I've been meaning to make?

For 2025:
-Write 4 fics over 5k.
-Finish the MotA pre-canon ranch Clegan fic.
-Finish Dark Academia Bingo and at least one other bingo this year.
-Win an icon challenge this year!
-[community profile] fffx
-Make posts here to practice Japanese.
-Make a manifesto/wrap up post for The Great (because I loved it so much and hardly posted about it).

Personal:
-Read 20 books.
-Move (again).
-Finish the semester strong so that I can graduate with honors.
-Plan Halloween family costumes earlier this year.
-Hold the Line! aka don't quit.

[community profile] snowflake_challenge #1: Update Your Fandom Information

I updated my profile using code from [community profile] killthecake. I will probably change the background image because I don't like the way it's displaying but at least I've got my fandoms list and the transformative works policy.

Upcoming fandom things:
-Looking forward to the rec fest at [community profile] tv_talk starting January 12, since I'm sort of due to fall in love with a new fandom. Also looking forward to [community profile] halfamoon!
-Working my way through [community profile] bestof_icons. It's so fun to look back through everyone's icons posts!
-Also I want to finish at least one more challenge for [community profile] lands_of_magic before the round wraps on January 17.
-I need to read through the Heavy Artillery holiday exchange fic collection still.
-I got my card for [community profile] comment_bingo here.

I did read the Shane/Ryan Advent Calendar fic collection though! Here are my favorites:

almost like i miss you by transfreak.
An ethereal drug-induced feelings realization that fits so well!

In a New Old-Fashioned Way by drunkkenobi.
I love all the relationship history packed into this and the banter is hilarious.

#12: Tell us about a personal win
I finished and posted the final chapter to my Kyle/Max Roswell New Mexico Big Bang!!! At 10,287 words total, it's the longest Roswell New Mexico fic I've ever written.

#15: Fandom Snowflake Challenge's 2023 Fandom Wrapped!
Your top 5 4 fandoms for 2023 were: Based off of events and fic, I'd say Roswell New Mexico, Band of Brothers, Supernatural, & MCU.

Your top 5 4 fandom spaces in 2023 were: Dreamwidth, Tumblr, Discord, AO3

The top 5 things you did to contribute to fandom in 2023 were: Write fic, Leave comments on fic, chat on Discord, Make graphics and icons, & compete for my teams at [community profile] lands_of_magic and [community profile] fandom_empire.

Your top 5 most appreciated fandom contributions were: I'll go by top five kudos on AO3.
1. On Screen and Off, Gen, 9-1-1, Buck/Eddie
2. First Anniversary, Teen, RNM, Michael/Alex
3. Do Your Worst, Explicit, MCU, Sam/Bucky/Zemo
4. Potential Constituent, Teen, Generation Kill, Brad/Nate
5. Ugly Red Couch, Explicit, MCU, Steve/Tony

Bonus question: In 2023, you discovered: The original Roswell!! There are so many episodes to love, and I already rewatched it twice. I also had fun reading Red, White & Royal Blue (so many tropes!), but I still need to watch the film.

And my own question: Top Five Favorite Fics I Wrote This Year: under the cut )
impala_evolved: (CK || Lawrusso heart eyes)
This reminded me that last snowflake I wanted to make a Cobra Kai themed rec list! It seems like there is a disproportionately high number of great vids in this fandom - and maybe that's because they were posted on AO3, which makes it way easier for me to search for and find them. It's almost impossible to search on Youtube these days.

For the five things challenge, here are five books I read in 2023.

1. The Molly Southborne Trilogy by Tade Thompson.

Thriller/horror series that had me on the edge of my seat! Molly is so competent and badass, and the whole story line is genuinely freaky - without saying too much, there are spies and clones and a bunch of Mommy issues. There's a lesson in there about only being able to trust and rely on yourself - except that's made easier when there's more than one of you. This is a trilogy I actually wish they'd turn into a violent movie. I have so many AU ideas from this premise.

2. All Systems Red by Martha Wells.

I finally was able to read the first murderbot book, and I get what the fuss is about! Such a great sci-fi premise. Murderbot's growing personality is so distinct, plus I love the gender neutrality of it all. Definitely too much to hope for when it comes to ChatGPT?? I am waiting for the second book on Libby.

3. I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jeannette McCurdy.

OOF. I'm STILL thinking about this book. This is some heavy shit. She discusses her mental health issues in DEPTH and her eating disorders and I definitely cried reading it. There is some dark humor in it to lighten the mood, but I don't get why people are describing it as a comedy book. Make no mistake, this is a book about how deep mommy issues can go, and how hard it is to dig yourself out of childhood stardom when it goes badly for you. It is very well-done, and I'm glad Jeannette seems to be in a better place - and she's getting to live out her dream as a writer!

4. Pageboy by Elliot Page.

The nonlinear timeline was a challenge to keep up with at times, but everything was so heartfelt and earnest that I couldn't put it down. It's interesting reading about someone else's gender experience, because some of it I could really relate to (for example, wishing I could hide my boobs or have people ignore them), and some of it I couldn't (his boobs made him feel ill until he could actually get them removed). This difference doesn't make his experience any less valid, I loved that this book was willing to give so much detail. This was also interesting to read back to back after the McCurdy book, because for Page acting was an escape and a calling, instead of a prison.

5. A tie between Ring Shout by P. Djèlí Clark or We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson.

Both were completely different but great horror stories. The twists and turns were a blast. I think Ring Shout had a more satisfying ending but these are two authors very good at their craft.
impala_evolved: (RNM || Valevans)
#8 Talk about a current fannish project: I am bound and determined to finish chapter 5 (the last chapter) of my Roswell New Mexico Big Bang fic Drew the Line Right Through You. I finished editing what I've written so far, but I just have to stick the landing/ending. This is one of those projects that lived in my head so long, because I had all these pre-canon Kyle Valenti headcanons - and then I spent so much time outlining and editing, that I'm probably putting too much pressure on it :/ But I already received GORGEOUS cover art for it (with QUOTES! In WATERCOLOR!!), and the whole challenge period has already ended, so I just need to send it out into the world.

#9 Rec Us Your Newest Thing: Hades the Video Game! Okay I know this came out way back in 2018, but I'm finally playing it. It was really intimidating to start, because I know NOTHING about video games. I was only playing Stardew Valley at the time, which I still love. But the Hades controls are pretty user-friendly and the graphics are gorgeous. What's really amazing about the game is the story, though! Zagreus is an outstanding character - he's got Daddy and Mommy issues, many admirers, tons of bravado and personality, and he's hot :P Thanatos is my other favorite right now, and I definitely ship it. Although the Meg/Zag vibes are getting stronger. Eurydice is so interesting, and I'm just now getting into the Achilles and Patroclus storyline. I'm not sure how accurate everything is, but I feel like I'm learning about Greek mythology too. I finally made it to the final boss for the first time, using the twin fists of malphon, but I haven't escaped yet. I used boons from Aphrodite, Artemis, Dionysus, Zeus, and someone else I'm forgetting - I think the key to that run was leveling up the boons as much as I could, and using the spiked collar keepsake until the last level (when I switched to Skelly's tooth).
impala_evolved: (MCU || Natasha)
My fandom wish list for Challenge 3:

-An updated or completely new Sam/Dean (Supernatural) fanvid to the Halsey song Drive that includes clips from the series finale. That song would be such a good vehicle for looking back at their journey.

-Also, an SPN fanvid to the song Hallucinogenics by Matt Maeson because I'm obsessed with the lyrics: 'Cause I carried on like the wayward son//And now through and through, I've come undone

-A multi-fandom anon kink prompt meme with comment fic! It could be general or themed. I think I saw one going around last year for a brief time, and I'd love to see another one. Along the same lines, I'd love for something to replace [community profile] seasonofkink. I loved the bingo style, but the prompts could even be a tad more specific: maybe kinks + locations? I just hope that something else will emerge to fill that void.

-More icons from The Great (TV). That show is so beautiful, but I haven't seen many icons/fanart from it.

-Speaking of The Great, please do rec me your favorite fanfics (self-recs are fine!). I have many ships, including Peter/Catherine and moresomes, so I'm open to reading what you rec.

-Icon textures/bases with lyrics from Halsey and Hozier songs. I'm not very good at incorporating text into my icons, so I'd love to be able to use bases made by someone else.

-Lastly, more Roswell New Mexico friends on Dreamwidth! Even though the show ended, there is a fun community on Discord. I'd love to transfer some of that energy to DW.

For Challenge 4, here's a moodboard I made about myself recently:

I got to participate in the Shyan big bang, and I got to finish an RPF fic that I've been thinking about for a long time involving demon!Shane going to hell to rescue Ryan. It happens to be the longest fic I wrote last year, and it very specifically caters to my interests, lol.

It's no surprise that my Merthur canon divergent AU dominated my stats. I felt good about that fic but I'm excited that some of my other ships showed up on my top five lists too.

And an End of the Year Fandom Meme )
impala_evolved: (Default)
I read through a lot of the comments/posts others made for this Snowflake Challenge, and I was feeling pretty down. It's so sad to hear how people have been bullied and harassed in fandom spaces. I went away for just a bit, and watched some comfort shows, before I typed this. Because a vast majority of the time fandom makes me happy!!

-I am very fond of fic exchanges. BUT I don't think they encourage engagement the same way other events do. Bring back comment fic challenges and watch/re-watch reaction posts and kink memes where people can keep commenting and building on each other!! On that note, I wish more of us were watching the same shows!! There are too many shows and they finish airing too quickly!! If it drops all at once, I have to get through the whole show before I can engage with fandom!! (because I don't like major spoilers)

-I get SO annoyed on tumblr when I see all those posts about how reblogs are important and "likes" mean nothing to them and they get mad about the ratio of likes vs. reblogs. The OPs seem to think we don't get that reblogs share the content and likes don't? That's not the case, I know how tumblr works, I'm a tumblr old. But I am the curator of MY blog. That's the whole point: I get to choose what I want on my blog, and I mostly only share things that bring joy. So I give a 'like' if I want to be encouraging, or if it's not my fandom but I can appreciate the post, or if it is interesting but I don't necessarily agree with the sentiment, or if I can't stand that character but the gif is nice. Those posts make me not want to even give likes. It's not my job to be your promoter. If the campaign was for more comments, I'd be happy to do that!! But they don't care about engagement it seems like, they just want to win the reblog game!!

Challenge #8: In your own space, celebrate a personal win from the past year: it can be a list of fanworks you're especially proud of, a gift of your time to the community, a quality or skill you cultivated in yourself, something you generally feel went well.

My team tied for first over at the Merlin Kinkalot month-long challenge! I wrote 2 shyan fics for a Discord event, which was fun. I also felt good about completing [community profile] ficinabox, the longest fic exchange I've been apart of. And I got the captain rank before Loose Lips Sink Ships ended.

Challenge #9: Fandom Wrapped!

What are your top five fandoms for 2021 based on the amount of time you interacted with them?
1. Band of Brothers (participated in 2 events and prompt meme LLSS)
2. Merlin (participated in kinkalot)
3. Teen Wolf (a couple random tumblr events)
4. MCU (SamBucky events!)

Challenge #5: In your own space, talk about an idea you wish you had the time / talent / energy to do.

I used to really love themed Land Comms! I'd love to bring back a challenge with some kind of team aspect that takes place over a period of time. The one I'm thinking of is A War of Roses, which was a Land comm for all historical fandoms. Participants were split into two teams, and then there was a weekly and a monthly challenge (I think?). Teams earned points based on participation. Each challenge was catered to totally different skills - there were fic or drabble challeneges, icon challenges, signature tags, puzzle challenges, recc challenges, maybe even some things that had to be completed as a team like a mini bingo? I think it's funner to do have broader themes, like Sci Fi or Historical - because then people aren't limited by fandom. On the other hand, I loved the way [community profile] fffc ran their anniversary challenge, where they would just pick fandoms at random and you'd have a week to create something. Fandoms with the least amount of participation got eliminated - although the scoring could be worked out a little differently. That format could work for a general Land Comm, too. I know there used to be Supernatural land comms too, like SPN Verse. Oh, and I really like the [personal profile] kinkalot team challenge every summer. It's limited to Merlin fandom and fic, but the points and team aspects are great. I'm just worried that challenges that take place over a long period might not garner a lot of interest? It would be a lot of work to come up with team challenges and then do all the scoring.

Challenge #7: In your own space, tell us about 3 fandom resources, spaces, or communities you use or enjoy.

Not fandom specific:
[community profile] fffc has some really fun writing challenges! And you can earn badges along the way. I especially love their bingo challenges, even though I haven't had the energy to do them in a while.
[community profile] historium has some great people and interesting posts, including historical reference posts. I learn new things from the comm all the time.
[community profile] recthething is an informal recc comm. There's a post once a week to post about things you love, and it's great to get to share random fanwork squee.
•I really like following [community profile] vidding even though I haven't vidded in years. There are so many creative vids and they post about vid events/exchanges, so I don't miss when collections go live :D

Challenge #3: In your own space, put some favorite characters into an AU, fuse some favorite canons together, talk about your favorite AU/fusion tropes, or tell us why AU/fusions aren’t your cup of tea.

Mostly I read canon divergence or canon adjacent fic, but I went through my AO3 bookmarks for inspiration. I do love reading different first meeting of the OTP/meeting prior to canon AUs for all of my fandoms. Also, role reversal fic! I love the opportunities for character study in these types of fics. Maybe these are really just more specific canon divergence AUs?

I think certain canons lend themselves to particular types of alternate universes, which is why I tend to like them more.

For example, I really like Politics AUs for Generation Kill fandom (probably because you get to know some of the characters' political views during the show), and Sci-Fi fusions with space battles or space marines. I can see the characters being warriors in any time/place.

For Merlin fandom, I love modern royalty AUs. I don't really read those much for other fandoms?

For Buzzfeed Unsolved/Watcher, I read and enjoy a much wider range of AUs. The guys have talked about so many random topics, the sky is sort of the limit. Serial killer or demon/magic AUs or gangster AUs are amazing. I read a Dirty dancing AU that was SO good! I like historical fics that show the guys as the historical equivalent of social media stars. Sports AUs would be fun. There's a ton of options.

My favorite fandom to fuse with is Supernatural. Probably because I like the aesthetic and the opportunity to borrow from canon lore. Greek mythology fusions are also super fun to read/write.

Challenge #4: In your own space, make a list of things that you wish existed in fandom or elsewhere, and/or that you'd like someone to create or do for you.

I love icons and I'm not good at making them myself. And now that I have a paid account, I can have even more icons! Icons with speech bubbles, minimalist icons, icons with vivid colors, icons with stock images - they're all great. I'm excited for Peaky Blinders s6, so I'm requesting any icons with Tommy, Ada, Esme, Polly, or all of the Peaky men or Peaky ladies. Or from the s6 trailer?

Also requesting icons with any images or quotes from the last season of Buzzfeed Unsolved: Supernatural. And Johnny/Daniel from Cobra Kai s4.

Challenge #2: In your own space, set some goals for the coming year.

I talked about my writing goals a little bit in my end of the year post, but my main writing goals are:
Mod a writing exchange (currently doing it!)
[community profile] ficinabox
[community profile] iddyiddybangbang
Possibly another longfic exchange? Triple crown is still way scary, but maybe I can do [community profile] fffx next year.
Complete a bingo this year, maybe for [community profile] seasonofkink
Write more words than 2021 (102,284)
ETA LJ Book Bingo??

I'd also love to write more of my original story that I started in 2019. I had a bunch of things outlined and I could probably finish it if I actively tried.

As for real life, work out at least 3x a week. Possibly start walking to work from the parking lot that is farther away (weather dependent). Visit friends that I haven't seen in forever. Make time for me.
